For the third year in a row, H&R Block + Nextdoor have joined forces to Make Every Block Better. Neighbors across the country nominated community projects that would uplift and improve their neighborhoods — and 11 compelling proposals were chosen. Thanks to the help and kindness of the local businesses and neighbors, these projects were successfully brought to fruition.
A neighbor nomination coupled with a local council wishlist made the project at The Wilson Street Park in Anchorage, AK a perfect fit for the Make Every Block Better program. The park got a refresh with some desperately needed updates. Thanks to the generous time and efforts of volunteers from H&R Block and the dedicated community, ADA-compliant wood chips were added to the swing area, the shelter that was covered in graffiti was repainted, and new garden beds were planted.
H&R Block + Nextdoor provided the ADA-compliant wood chips, paint brushes, paint, barrels for planting, plants, soil, and food and ice cream for all the volunteers.
